• A train going through a forest in Colorado Springs

    Seasonal Schedule

Pikes Peak

SPRing

Springtime in the Rockies is when wildflowers begin to pop up and wildlife comes out of a long hibernation. Lingering snow has almost melted and days are long as the sun begins to warm the earth.  We will be opening on May 20, 2021.

Project Updates

SUMMER

Longer days bring more opportunities to experience one of the prettiest mountain rides Colorado has to offer — The Pikes Peak Cog Railway. With daily operations from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and departures every 40 minutes until 5:20 p.m. throughout the season, you get to choose between early morning dew or golden-hour on America’s Mountain.

FALL

Fall is the time when days are the sunniest and the nights crisp and clear. The aspens begin to turn in late September through mid-October and are always a highlight.

WINTER

Winter is the clearest time of year as the low humidity and snowfall decrease dust in the air. Although days are short, the bright sun can still be warm.

THE JOURNEY

Each round trip aboard the Pikes Peak Cog Railway is approximately three breathtaking hours of sightseeing. Of course, you’ll need plenty of time to get situated, so we recommend arriving 30 minutes ahead of your departure and suggest stretching your experience to four hours to allow time to find that perfect souvenir at the gift shop.

Our Story

THE TRAINS

Our Cog Railway is serviced by three new trains that can carry up to 263 passengers per trip and four refurbished railcars that carry 214 passengers each.

We also offer seasonally themed train rides where guests can be transported to a winter wonderland aboard Santa’s Train and more.
